Cycling Training

Are You Sick & Tired of Following Cycling Training Plans That Don’t Seem to Work… Gaining Average Results?

Cycling TrainingWith this Cycling Training Plan I lost 15kgs/33lbs of Body Fat… and my Average Speed went from 24 to 37kph My First Season!

Hi… I’ve been involved in a variety of sports all my life and have always considered myself a relatively fit person. However, since I’ve hit my 40s, it’s proving to be more of a challenge to stay fit and in shape. Over the last 5 years or so I’ve found myself slowly increasing in weight to the point where I weighed 106 kgs/233 lbs.

I’ve always enjoyed cycling so it made perfect sense to take up the sport on a more serious note as a way to get back into shape and stay fit. My first goal was to lose a good 15kgs over a 10 week period and to establish a nice fitness base to build upon for the cycling season.

I have just recently completed this goal and it feels fantastic. It’s amazing how much better you feel 15kgs lighter… I seem to have a lot more energy and in a much better frame of mind. I achieved this goal by following a simple cycling training plan and implementing the advice of pro-cyclists. If you are a bit over weight and need to get into shape, check out this cycling training program for beginners. However if you’re ready to take it to the next level… read on.

My Next Cycling Training Challenge

Now that I’ve lose a bit of weight, my next cycling training goal is to compete in a race called the 100k flyer. I actually entered this event last year and achieved very average results. My time was a sluggish 3hrs 34mins.

This year I plan to do much better (under 3hrs) so I’ve decided to follow a cycling training plan written by expert-pro cyclists. Over the next 12 weeks I will put this cycling training plan to the test. I will be recording all my training stats into a spread sheet so I can easy track my progress.

I will also be documenting everything I eat as I plan to lose another 10kgs. As you would well be aware, power to weight ratio becomes a crucial factor if you want to seriously complete in cycling.

You can check out my first weeks  cycling training plan here.

Fast Forward 12 Weeks

Here’s a video of me during the 100k flyer event after my 12 weeks of training… the quality of the video’s not that great but I hope you get the idea…anyone can do this!
